L'accesso avviene tramite Sign in with Apple.

Puoi intervenire in qualsiasi momento:

Scribl is built for taking notes, not for collecting data about you. This page explains exactly what stays on your device, what passes through our servers, and why.
In short: your notebooks are yours. There are no ads, no third-party analytics or tracking tools, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone for commercial purposes.
The data controller is Nexatide, the independent studio that develops Scribl. For any question about this policy: nexatide@gmail.com.
This policy covers both Scribl applications and the service that connects them:
eu.nexatide.scribl.viewer) — a read-only reader: it displays notebooks created on your iPad but cannot edit them or create new ones.iOS / iPadOS
Notebooks, pages, pen strokes, photos, tables, audio recordings and flashcards are stored on the device via SwiftData. The app works entirely offline and requires no account in order to write.
From version 1.2 the same is true of the study coach: the material you hand it (books, PDFs, scans, notebooks), the units it is split into, the summaries, the key sentences and the study plans are generated and kept on the device only.
Android
Scribl Viewer keeps a local copy of the notebooks it downloads in its own private area (filesDir, not accessible to other apps), so they remain readable without a network connection. Specifically:
syncId identifier and a token), stored in the app's SharedPreferences; All of this is deleted from the device when you sign out from the app's settings, or when you uninstall the app.
No account is needed to write on iPad. An account is only required for two features: notebook sharing and reading on Android.
Sign-in uses Sign in with Apple. From Apple we receive a stable, anonymous identifier for your account (the Apple subject identifier), which we store hashed; if you choose to share them, we also receive your email address and display name, used solely for collaboration invites. Apple lets you hide your real email address, and we fully support that choice.
Alternatively, on Android you can link your phone using a temporary pairing code generated by the iPhone: it is valid for 10 minutes, single-use, and deleted from the server the moment you use it.
For a notebook to be readable on Android, the iPhone uploads a copy of it to the Scribl relay. That copy contains the notebook's content — text, strokes, photos, audio — and is held in Vercel Blob private storage, reachable only with your account's credentials. No other user can access it. If you delete a notebook or turn sync off, the server-side copy is removed.
When you trigger an AI feature — chat, explanations, summaries, diagram generation, handwriting recognition — the content of the page involved (text and/or image) is sent to our Vercel proxy, which forwards it to the language model that generates the answer. This never happens in the background or automatically.
The model providers we use are Google (Gemini) and, as a fallback, Groq. Content sent to them is also subject to their respective privacy policies. We do not retain AI conversations on our servers beyond the time needed to answer the request.
The study coach never touches our servers. Reading the material, extracting the text (including OCR on scanned pages), splitting it into concepts, the summaries, the self-test questions and the flashcards are produced entirely on the device using Apple's system frameworks. The text of your books and notes is sent neither to us nor to any third party. Reading the material aloud is synthesized on the device too, and works offline.
When you generate your invite code or enter one, the app contacts the Scribl relay and sends: the code, a hashed identifier of your iCloud account (never the raw identifier), and an Apple DeviceCheck token. DeviceCheck is an Apple service that stores two bits per physical device; we use it only to know whether that iPad has already redeemed an invite, so the same device cannot be paid twice. We receive no advertising identifier, serial number, or other device data.
On the relay we keep the code, who invited whom, the state of the invite and the Plus days granted. This is stored as JSON objects on Cloudflare R2. To decide whether an invite has "activated", the device reports only two counters — how many separate days you have used the app, and how many notebooks you have created — never the content of your notebooks.
Payments are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store: we never see your card details. The relay only stores whether your account has an active subscription and its expiry date — information needed to unlock reading on Android.
If you enable iCloud in settings — it is off by default — your notebooks are mirrored to your private iCloud so they are available on your other Apple devices. That data stays in your Apple account: neither Scribl nor Nexatide can access it.
| Data | Why | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Notebook content (text, strokes, photos, audio) | To make the app work; to make it readable on Android if you enable sync | Device; Scribl relay (only if you sync); iCloud (only if enabled) |
| Apple identifier (hashed), email and name if shared | Authentication and collaboration invites | Scribl relay |
| Sync credentials (syncId, token) | To link the Android reader to your account | Android device; Scribl relay |
| Page content sent to the AI | To generate the answer you asked for | Scribl proxy → Google Gemini or Groq (in transit, not retained) |
| Scribl Plus subscription status | To unlock Plus features | Scribl relay |
| Study material, units, summaries and plans | To run the study coach | On the device only |
| Invite code, hashed iCloud id, DeviceCheck token, activation counters | To grant Plus days and stop double redemptions | Scribl relay (Cloudflare R2) |
| App preferences (theme, language, last page) | To remember how you left the app | On the device only |
Scribl Viewer requests a single permission: INTERNET, needed to download notebooks from the relay. It does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, files or notifications.
We keep data for as long as your account is active and you need it to use the service. You can act at any time:
All communication between the apps and our servers happens exclusively over HTTPS/TLS. Synced content is held in private storage accessible only with your account's credentials; access tokens are stored on the server hashed, never in plain text.
Scribl is designed for students and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe such material has been sent to us, please write to us and we will remove it.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR gives you the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and obtain a portable copy. The legal bases on which we process data are performance of a contract (providing the service you asked for) and legitimate interest (keeping the service secure and working). To exercise a right, write to nexatide@gmail.com: we respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your country's supervisory authority.
If we change this policy in a material way we will update the date at the top of the page and flag it in the app. We encourage you to check back from time to time.
